  Book Description:

A man dances the same way he f*#ks. His stamina, his rhythm, the slow grind of his hips. Some people are born to it, others learn through years of careful study. And dancers? We f*#k best of all. The moment I saw her, I knew. Her innocence is intoxicating. My lust is fierce. Primal. To watch her dance is to know the torment of true temptation. She will be mine.

I have a thing for male ballet dancers, I blame Julian Marquet, and the release of this video a few months ago:

I asked Mary if we had anything in the treasure trove of smut that is our family library that featured a male ballet dancer and she sent me back First Position. And I was so pumped guys, its a serial, but I figured with talk of being the best of all at fucking in the synopsis I’d get some good down and dirty toe-shoes action. It let me down, you guys.

First Position opens with Annalise newly arrived in Rome, for summer shows with the American Ballet Academy, she’s the daughter of a former Prima Ballerina who is pretty disappointed that her kid is in the corps waving a rose back and forth (h/t to one of Mary and I’s favorite movies Center Stage). So, there is a lot of pressure for Anna to win a solo and become a steady soloist with the company before she’s in her mid twenties and a hag by ballet standards. Annalise is trying to be a good girl but she gets lured away from her classmates sanctioned tour of the city by music playing nearby, she follows the sound of the music until she finds a troupe of street performers. Annalise is particularly captivated by one of the male dancers, a handsome swarthy guy who is making her feel things in her naughty places with his moves.

As Annalise is clapping for the troop her purse gets snatched and she screams for help, to see someone dart through the crowd after the mugger. It is hot dancer of course. Hot street busking dancer who is not a dansuer and knows no ballet. Sighs guy, biggest sighs. I was starting to feel really misled, much like when I thought I was getting my dream bar baby book, and this one is so short there was not much time to redeem itself.

I’m going to spoil what little plot there is, if you want to be surprised scroll from hot guy in tights to hot guy in tights:

Raphael brings Annalise her purse, thinks she’s the most beautiful girl in the world (as boys do in these books), and invites her to a party after curfew. Even though Anna is a virgin, and ballet is ostensibly the most important thing in the world to her, and she doesn’t know this foreign boy in a strange city, she sneaks out of her dorms to meet him. No good decision making for our little girl in tights. Annalise drinks only soda, and confesses her total innocence to Raphael. She makes out with him in an alleyway. He’s obsessed with her after one kiss and now she’s the most important thing in the world to him and he’ll do anything to have her. Because this is how love works.

Since Annalise is only supposed to be dancing while in Rome she has to sneak out again to see Raphael. He buys her gelatto even though she’s been on a diet since before the onset of puberty –I do feel bad for her and her weighing of almonds for snacks — it’s like a mouth orgasm for her. They make out again, she almost comes from kissing and light foreplay (SURE). Raphael is making her break all kinds of rules but she thinks its worth it because they’re in this insta love. Until she sprains her ankle sneaking back into the dorms. She yells at him to go away, her life is ruined. He understands her pain but he’ll never stay away. They’ve seen each other three times. SHE IS HIS LIFE NOW.

The book ends. Her hymen remains intact. I rage.

Can anyone recommend a book that has both an actual male ballet dancer AND actual sex? Do a girl a solid.

If you love disappointment, buy this on Amazon:

For a much better time, watch this:
